Hi folks, I have a strange problem with Windows Media Player (WMP). One day I was using it just as normal; minimised to its toolbar like I have it, and then I noticed my system slowing right down, it was getting hard to use any application. I checked out the Processes in Windows Task Manager and saw there was one thing eating up resources, WMP was eating up 150-180Mb of RAM. Now whenever I start any track, its not using so much RAM, sometimes it will reach up to 50Mb, but now its random flipping up to the likes of 95% CPU usuage!? It can make my system barely useable. I really liked WMP before and want to use it just as I did. I have tried uninstalling WMP and reinstalling the latest version, but the problem is still here. Any ideas? Thanks for your time and help.

Theres bound to be something reported in Microsofts product issues, and usually a hotfix for it.
Google it!

Happens to me when I ahve the computer for a long time + firefox has been open for a while. I dunno if its just me but when you have 10 tabs in firefox open for like 5 hours and music playing together(WMP and FF) together use up just under 100% of the CPU

Yes your right, they would use nearly 100% of your 233mhz processor lol I know what you mean, when you have lots of tabs open in Firefox for a long time it uses up a lot of memory sometimes. But this WMP prob happens on a fresh restart with when I dont really use any other apps. Im using it now whilst I making this post, slowing everything down to a halt, its currently using 50Mb RAM and 95% CPU, whoring the system.
