Hi folks,
For about the past three weeks my MSN has kept on signing out as if the connection has dropped. The connection isnt dropping yet MSN signs me out a lot intermintently.. any ideas? Anyone else experiencing the same problem lately?
Ash.

Check for upgrades on your routers firmware, or increase the MTU packet size (Should be in one of the settings of your router) MTU Packet Size: 1390 Also try this test: www.dslreports.com/tweaksIt will identify any deficiencies with your connection, copy and paste the url with the results. Cheers Ryan

Probably about a month or a little more ago I did flash my router with a new firmware Its a better firmware (ie. new with more functionality). I did contemplate whether it could have been that, so ages ago I flash the firmware back, but mind you I was troubleshooting another connection problem at the same time back then, (mother f*cked with the phone points and plugged her phone in the DSL point of a microfilter downstairs! everytime any phone was picked up, it cut off the ADSL router! ) I cant remember whether flashing the firmware back solved the MSN prob. But I know I wasnt having the issue before I flashed the router. Im a bit werrey of changing the packet size of any protocol on my router. Where have you seen about this before bud? I will try using MSN on my server for a gd while, see if it does it on there. Results of that test: 1. Your Tweakable Settings: Receive Window (RWIN): 65535 Window Scaling: off Path MTU Discovery: ON RFC1323 Window Scaling: OFF RFC1323 Time Stamping: OFF Selective Acks: ON MSS requested: 1432 TTL: unknown TTL remaining: 123 TOS/TOS subfield: 0 TOS/Flags: 2. Ok ryan, I still have the problem.. im now willing to give the MTU packet thing a try but you recommended increasing it to: 1390. Mines currently already at: 1492 so it would be a decrease?! Do you think its posible that my new router firmware might have increased the size and infact it might me a issue of it being too large?
