Hello,
Your friendly neighbourhood geek here telling you DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER.
MS have recently found another massive security hole in it and IIS. This hole has been taken advantage of by hackers for several months meaning, they have put malicious code on supposedly secure servers (banks, auction sites, price comparison sites etc.) that puts malicious Javascript in to every page, which in turn creates a backdoor in your computer. They can attain complete control over your machine. My advice, get Mozilla Firefox. Not only is it a great alternative to IE, it's open source so vulnerabilities are more likely to be spotted before they make the developer release. Plus, it isn't susceptible to many of the ActiveX and JavaScript issues that IE is.

Mozilla and Thunderbird are available from: WinAMP is available from along with loads of really cool tools where you can control your music from other computers over a network or the internet and even start your own digital radio station. For anyone that wants to know how their computer is running you can make a cool dashboard that gives you all the information you would ever need with Serious Samurize There are loads of programs that I use that are actually free off the net. Just google and you find them!

Thats cool, I've been thinking of changing back to Mozilla Firefox; I used to use it a little. I think I will now. So does this mean I should uninstall IE, and what about IIS!? I run a couple of web servers at home using IIS, apachie, MySQL, PHP, so thats (IIS) is open for attack? or will it get patched in the latest windows update? whats the news Epileptic G33K?
Thanks for your advise mate.

For example if I go to a domain like example.com and I then want to login into my FTP account, on IE you just went File | Login As . . (and then typed in username and pass) how do I log into a FTP user account on firefox? can you help me out EpiLePTiCFaiRY?

sure if you want to go to an FTP site in Mozilla it actually works better than IE because it has some protocols that are broken in IE... I haven't found a single server I can't view yet in Moz and loads I can't in IE.
Anyway, back to the point. There are a few ways of doing it but the one I like is:
ftp://user:pass@domain
I'm sure you can figure that out.
If you don't want your password in the address bar just type ftp://user@domain and then you will get the familiar password window.

Oh yeah, duurrr why didnt I remember that! Yeah im loving all this, so much faster with more effcient loading of the page, I like it. Its a shame my fellow NQ Organiser didnt feel the same way when I introduced him to it, he installed it and kept it for honestly about 40seconds, saw a slighty visually different GUI interface and cried at the sight of it being slightly more to the linux appeal and must have screamed over vent and then uninstalled it all with under a minute, and thats the truth lol I was mad at him for not giving it a chance, but apprently that was his version of giving it a chance, oh well, you can see the n00bs are easily scared off by change.
