lol,.. oh the irony. bare with me.. This is a form of clustering in a sense.. I mean your using the internet to distrubute the data to different computers (instead of a LAN), and then they work together to process the huge amount of data. SETI was the same, and used to run a client called UD Agent (United Devices), and you would setup an account and choose what research you wanted your computer to do/process. I choose to break down the genitic structure of human DNA or something in the hope to find a cure for cancer. I had multiple computers running under the same program, 1 computer even ran it 24/7/365 . Running these kinds of data processing software uses the spare CPU cycles of your computer.. so if you monitor the performance of your computer whilst having these applications on in the background, it will show as 100% CPU usuage a lot of the time, and this is backed up by it rasiing the CPU heat up on every computer considerably.. now they are starting a program like this to crunch data about weather etc.. which in turn is ironic, because lets say they get 20,000 people in the just the UK to do this, that will raise the CPU of there computer by about 10-20degrees for the whole duration their computer is on, in turn producing a lot more heat, tens of thousands of systems generating more heat than they would have normally may in turn affect the temperature and weather of our enviroment. Not to mention the 100% CPU usuage is proven to consume more energy, and was even stated by UD, that it could raise your electric bill ever so slightly if you ran it on a couple of machines.. now that means you could have posibly hundreds of thousands of people now consuming more energy and fosil fuels to infact crunch data about the weather That will affect the enviroment and weather. OMG you start to see the ignorance and self-destructing abilities of the human race. More people need to get informed.

oh, btw all my computers working away for that scheme generated 242days 19hours and 20seconds of total processing time.
