i've got a blue LED 8cm fan and i wanna put it into my PSU instead of my normal black 8cm.
what would be the best way of doing that?
i was thinking of drilling through the metal holder on the PSU unit, threading through the power wires and attaching it to power that way. is thre a better way of doing this?

Just the thing, I have done exactly that, it looks so sweet to. What I did was bought a new 550watt PSU: www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=34825The 550watt PSU had two fans built in, however after a little research on this particular PSU I found out that it runs perfect with just one, so included in my same order was a orange acrylic cover for a standard one fan PSU, and a blue 8cm LED fan. As soon as the order arrived I ripped the PSU apart, (without using it first so there wasnt any power left in the capacitators ) and then simply snipped the red and black wires to both fans inside, unscrewed and removed both fans. Terminate one pair of black and red wires with electrical tape, then I got the blue LED fan, snipped the molex connector off, and attached the corresponding wires to the last pair or red and black wires that were left on the psu; solder these wires and cover the joints properly with electrical tape. I screwed the LED fan to the back of the psu, and then threw away the old top cover and put the new acrylic cover on the PSU (this time with no fan on the top). The PSU was now even quieter, transperent, and glows a cool blue through orange wich looks mint, and when you look at the back of the PC the PSU glows out blue which looks great. You see this exact sort of thing already done on the market for around £50, and its a lot cheaper to do it yourself and gives you a lot more pride. ;D The whole thing would have cost me under £30! So hopefully that explanation of my process will give you some ideas/help. But I love this MOD to bits and recommend it! Ash.
